Introducing PERMA+

Martin Seligman’s PERMA theory contains 5 foundations for Wellbeing and a flourishing life:

  1. The Pleasant Life – positive emotion and feeling well
  2. The Engaged Life – positive character strengths
  3. The Relational Life – other people and building social capacity
  4. The Meaningful Life – core motivations, purpose and meaning
  5. The Accomplished Life – strive to achieve and goal attainment

More recently, a PLUS has been added to the PERMA model – this represents wellness and physical health in recognition that physical and mental health are inextricably linked.
